Men not on Verge of Extinction, report Scientists (Well, thank goodness for that.)
Test your random science knowledge: Are you Scientifically Literate? (Disclaimer: This is 50 tough questions! I didn't even fare so well thanks to my sub par physics and chemistry skills. Good thing I teach Biology because that was embarrassing.)
Now, lets go on with the show. (And if you haven't seen "There's no Business like Show Business," you really should. Yes, it's on the long side. But it's worth it. FF to the music numbers if you can't take the plot. Here's the best part from Fox's 1954 extravaganza.)
It's getting to that point, fair readers. The point in every woman's pregnancy when you start counting the days. It doesn't help that everyone finds it necessary to comment on your ever-increasing size. Yes, thank you for pointing that out- I hadn't noticed! The Pillsbury Dough Boy "he he!" comment just about pushed me over the edge. I'm trying to have a good sense of humor about the whole thing. "Right back atcha!" to the portly Mr. Joker! As I've said from the start, there's nowhere to go but out. Here's baby at 30 weeks. 10 more to go!
I surely could go on for quite a few paragraphs about the discomforts and annoyances associated with getting this large in so short a time. Suffice to say, it would be a lengthy discussion that I will now spare you from. You're welcome.
On the up-side, my days at work are numbered and I can see the end in sight. Trust me, I have them marked on my calendar in descending order. March will go pretty quick with the break, but April will be an all-out SLOG. No days off, 36 weeks+. If I'm a little cranky that month, or more than just a little, please don't take it personally.
We also had an awesome time with Jennie McKenzie of Laughing Lens Photography who took some very fun maternity pictures. Many of them are already on FB, but here are a few more of my previously unpublished favorites. Shout out to Jennie- she made it such a relaxing experience and the photos are so sweet. I'm so glad that we have them.
Shout out to all of my incredibly supportive family and friends. I couldn't have this baby without you! Okay, well, I guess I could but it wouldn't be very fun. Jerre is being very good about checking things off of the infamous "list" of things that need to get done before the baby comes that I have devised for him. That and he does laundry. Nice job.
Looking forward to fun events to come, starting with Katie's Oscar Party this weekend. I believe this is year 5 of the cake tradition? This one has great promise, provided I can pull it off. It's all about the execution. Its design is under wraps until the big day, but I'll be devoting a blog entry to the subject. Stay tuned.
Time for some hot tea, care to join me? Take care of yourself out there and see you soon.
